"Maybe the play depicts the battle between a cactus and a ficus."
- Quinn Bauriedel, director of Welcome to Yuba City
Join the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival for a pit stop presentation with director Quinn Bauriedel and performers Geoff Sobelle (Flesh and Blood and Fish and Fowl, Amnesia Curiosa, All Wear Bowlers), and Dito Van Reigersberg (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Isabella) who will discuss the work and process of OBIE Award-winning Pig Iron Theatre Company's newest creation Welcome to Yuba City. " [The audience] can interact with the characters, both online and in person. They can be a part of the show in discreet, mischievous, and comfortable ways."
- Whit MacLaughlin, director of FATEBOOK
Enhance your presence. Intrigue your friends. Smell the roses. Hug your computer.
A massive undertaking with 13 central characters and 100 secondary characters, FATEBOOK takes place in two designed realms: cyberspace and real space. Learn how New Paradise Laboratories is creating a world where the audience attends the production in both spaces. They'll introduce competing ideas of presence and identity as they duke it out online and onstage. You'll get a taste of FATEBOOK by doing what the actors have done, are doing, and will be doing through presence-enhancement exercises, profile building, and self-marketing activities. Ask them for a fatebooktheshow.com email address and you're in - you too can be in the show. Once you have your email address, join them in late July for a private FATEBOOK party/shoot.
A reception with the artists will take place immediately after the presentation. Admission is free, but RSVP is required. Please RSVP to robin@livearts-fringe.org.
