authentic grief baby monologue, a solo dance theater show written and performed by marisa illingworth, uses conversational storytelling and movement exploration to unpack themes of queerness, mortality, grief, and rebirth. stories of the loss of her mother from cancer, and of coming out of the closet during the pandemic, drive home the complex realization that our bodies sometimes bear undeniable transformations. in presenting their moving body, processing loss and profound change in real time, marisa hopes to show an unguarded and playful path through.
With over 100 offerings from rebellious circus, delicious dance, fearless theater and activist art to workshops, parties, and more Cannonball pushes the boundaries of live performance at four different venues this Fringe. About the Artist

marisa (she/they) is a philadelphia based movement artist interested in exploring themes of authenticity, grief, death, rebirth, and sexuality. she is most interested in what feels true in her body, and what is desperately trying to feel true in her body. they hope to combine their writing and movement practices in performance structures that turn toward play, honesty, and colloquialism.
