Thank you for an incredible 2023 Fringe Festival! Stay tuned for information about 2024.
A dance-theatre spectacle about insatiable desires, [in]convenience, [im]patience, and the need to get things now. THE INSTANT PLEASURE is a fast paced and silly joy-scroll, searching for what’s beyond the constant craving to want more, within the contrasts of queer existence in a capitalist society.
The show recontextualizes memes, idioms, bits, and personal anecdotes while borrowing from a versatile artistic legacy that includes Pina Bausch, Steve Reich, The Simpsons, SpongeBob Squarepants, and Laurie Anderson.
Das Sofortvergnügen premiered as a part of the 2023 Exponential Festival in Brooklyn, NY. It was developed at The Brick Theater through the ?!: New Works Festival, livestreamed with Zanni Productions thanks to a City Arts Corp Grant, with additional material performed at the March 2022 SALON. A work-in-progress was showcased as a part of The Tank’s 2022 PrideFest.
Cannonball, produced by Almanac Dance Circus Theatre, is the first and largest independent festival hub of the Philadelphia Fringe that presents risk-taking independent artists in back-to-back performances next to delicious lounge spaces, fostering creative collisions and community conversation.
