Deadeye Dick is a cabaret-style adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut's 1982 absurdist tale about Rudy Waltz, a murderer turned pharmacist turned playwright turned pharmacist turned hotel-owner.
In this production, Rudy, nea, Deadeye Dick leads us through his life and times in a show brimming with humor, electric jazz-fusion, and food samplings of varying quality. Among the many anecdotes shared is one about a neutron bomb explosion - how does his life get to this point? It must be seen to be understood.
Composer and Lyricist Braden Allison stars as the titular "Deadeye Dick" in this production alongside a live jazz band at PigIron Theatre Company's Studio B. Come and take part in the madness!

Braden Allison (they/them) is a composer based in New York City studying under Adam Guettel. They compose for a multitude of theatrical mediums - including dance pieces, ballets, art song, plays, operettas, etc. - and take particular interest in the intersection of avant-garde music and classic theatre traditions. In addition to composition, they are a music educator and tutor.
This is Braden's debut as an artist at Philly Fringe. They are always excited to talk to strangers so, please, say hello if you ever run into them.
