About the Artist

Using dance as an allegory to express the human condition, Jeffrey mixes classical ballet with theater to create physical poetry. Sykes' work lives within the liminal space between moments. Creating textures through musicality and physicality, Sykes choreographs ballets that transport the audiences to a reality where emotions are big and gestures are bombastic.

Jeffrey is an alumnus of The Juilliard School (BFA) and University of North Carolina School of the Arts (High School, Ballet). Professionally Jeffrey as worked with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Third Rail Projects (The Grand Paradise & Then She Fell), Ballet Hispanico, Company XIV, and various project based companies performing at Lincoln Center, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Joyce Theater, and The Guggehnheim Museum.

They currently lives in Philadelphia with their rescue-puppy Newton and works as a Digital Marketer and Dance Educator.
