... of time . . . is a durational installation dance performance performed by Vervet Dancers Miryam Coppersmith, Loren Groenendaal, Chloe Marie, and Kate Seethaler. These performers are also the cast of Vervet Dance’s contemporary choreography “Quartet for the End of Time” to premiere at the Icebox Project Space on November 22-23, 2024. This Cannonball Extension performance will reference some of the movement motifs and concepts of the evening length dance including humanity, sky, and nature, but more improvisationally and over a longer duration to really play with time, suspending, stretching, zipping, and condensing. “... of time . . .” also plays with our perception of time and nature. Humans are a unique organism on this planet and we often see ourselves as separate from nature and that time is organized in a particular way, but this work purports that humans are indeed a part of nature and time is malleable.
With over 100 offerings – from rebellious circus, delicious dance, fearless theatre and activist art to workshops, parties, and more – Cannonball pushes the boundaries of live performance at four different venues this Fringe. Come as you are and stay past bedtime. Blaze your own trail at cannonballfestival.org.

Vervet Dance is a Philadelphia-based contemporary dance company directed by Loren Groenendaal. The dance works draw on both the legacy of modern dance and cross-cultural influences to create innovative movement vocabularies and imaginative choreographies. Vervet strikes a unique balance between classic forms, new ideas, and ancient purposes for dance. Although subject matter varies, what is characteristic of the company is an ongoing intellectual diligence meeting a curious playfulness and an exploration of the visual and visceral components of dance.
