"With every wish, there comes a curse," Bruce Springsteen. GHOSTED is a solo show about forbidden love, loss, shame, and redemption. One woman tells a story, 35 years in the making. Solo performers connect with audiences through shared experiences. The protagonist, influenced by the words of Bruce Springsteen, meets her soul mate at a hotel in Allentown, PA, that might be haunted. And, with the help of a few characters, who might be ghosts, is able to recover from loss and shame, to create a fulfilling third act. GHOSTED audiences are taken on a journey of reconciliation with past ghosts, reclaiming an authentic self, and finding empowerment through resiliency.
"I loved this play and what a gorgeous performance by this warm, wise, sexy woman. Engaging everyone, connecting, mesmerizing and holding the audience in the palm of her hand while she unwound this sad and funny, tragic and inspiring tale. I really hope you get the chance to see Celeste Walker’s GHOSTED.” By Samantha Simmonds-Ronceros, NOHO arts News, Los Angeles

Acting is my greatest joy. It is my place of passion and liberation. On stage I am free to play and explore and touch on the lives of many. I am on a quest to, as the great acting teacher Sanford Meisner said, “live truthfully in imaginary circumstances.” I do not try to lose myself in the characters I play, but rather allow them to live through me. I give them a voice. I tell their stories. Whether I am playing characters from the real world, like Dorothy Parker or Maria Callas, or from the imagination of the playwright, I look for their truth, their struggle, their humanity, and partner that with the “magic if.” What would I do if... I am more interested in the process than in the result. I am interested in exploration through the senses and the imagination. My process involves: making strong choices, inappropriate responses, and playing opposites. I am trained as a “Method” actor. I prefer my mentor, Sam Schacht ‘s description. I use whatever tools it takes to tell the story.
Solo performance is both terrifying and liberating. Ghosted is my third solo show, the second that I’ve written and performed. I suppose I choose solo performing because, I have stories of my own to tell and I have a lot to say. Ghosted is autobiographical and it is a reflection on 35 years of change and evolution.
According to United Solo Festival website, “artists are capable of connecting with global audiences and focusing on the uniqueness of human beings.” One of the goals of solo performance is ”to present solo pieces, both local and international; discover original scripts; bring creators together; exchange perspectives; and inspire creativity related to solo performance.” Those goals reflect my own goals as a solo performer.
I recently moved to Bethany Beach, Delaware from Philadelphia. I have an MFA in Acting from The Actor’s Studio Drama School at the New School University in New York. I'm a lifetime member of The Actors Studio and a member of Actors Equity.
