An intriguing, soul-searching masterclass into the personas of jesters, jokers, and clowns, through the lens of the theatrical mask. About the Artist

Rosemary George, Internationally- acclaimed singer and educator, is delighted to present her master class Hiding Behind the Mask: Jesters, Jokers, and Clowns in the City of Brotherly Love. A recent addition to the 2025 Marquis: Who’s Who in America, Rosemary was a ‘Distinguished Teaching Award’ finalist at the Borough of Manhattan Community College and created and taught a Music Certificate Program for Hunter College’s Continuing Education Department. Baruch College presented her with a performance/lecture demonstration titled: Billie Holiday’s Café Society. Other college and university recitals/ master classes include New York University, Hofstra University, Dartmouth College, et al.


Before entering the world of popular music, Rosemary enjoyed an opera career, performing on tour with Columbia Artists Community Concert Series for over a decade.


As an international singer, Rosemary George has featured at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Jerash Festival (Jordan), Hong Kong Cultural Centre, and numerous venues in London: Leicester Square Theatre, Barbican Center Foyer Series, Jermyn Street Theatre, St. James’s Piccadilly and Octave Jazz Club.


In New York, Rosemary has been featured at the Lincoln Center Outdoors, Avery Fisher Hall, Waterloo Festival, Beethoven Festivals, Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, the 92nd Street Y, and others too numerous to mention. Her recital at the National Gallery of Art (Washington) was aired live on NPR.


In 2022, Rosemary returned to the 75th Anniversary of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with her digital lecture: Hiding Behind the Mask: jesters, jokers, and clowns, which garnered thought-provoking reviews.
