KidRave is a collaboration between Music with Ry and Jules in Space.
Ry Noss (they/them) is a freelance pre-k music teacher and a DJ. They noticed that there was a significant lack of spaces for children to experience electronic music, which they love! Over time, they’ve seen that the electronic music that they’re passionate about elicits strong musical reactions from children who they work with, and they’ve been producing KidRave in collaboration with Julia to provide children and their families an authentic EDM experience.
Julia Walden (she/her) is a spacebuilder and an avid electronic music fan who regularly brings her little one to music festivals. She is passionate about creating events and spaces that bring people together in unique ways, and loves working with other creatives to turn their artistic concepts into shared realities.
Ry and Julia met at an ecstatic dance event years ago and have been friends since. When Julia became the events manager for Beehive at Bok, where Ry has been the music teacher since 2019, they brainstormed the idea of KidRave. With the support and encouragement of Rachel Carnevale, owner of Beehive, they have been hosting monthly KidRaves in the Bok Building since the end of 2022. KidRave is still in its early stages of growth, and Ry and Julia are excited to see what lies ahead for Philadelphia’s premier kids’ dance party!
