Lossed is a hilarious and poignant dark comedy that colorfully weaves together one womans experience working in the death industry with her personal grief from losing a parent, losing several pets, and almost losing her mind before coming to terms with the place that death has in her life. Writer/performance artist Maggie Kubley uses storytelling, video, standup, and comedic slideshow to explore themes of loss and grief while guiding the audience through moments of humor (ranging from dark to goofy) to moments of reflection on what it is to lose something or someone, what it is to feel lost, and what we can ultimately gain through navigating these experiences.

Maggie Kubley is a solo performer, songwriter, comedian, writer, storyteller, and video artist. She has been making her uniquely midwestern multimedia performance works for the better part of the last two decades. Kubley graduated from Ball State University in Muncie, IN with her BA in Theatrical Studies. She lived and worked in Chicago, IL for over 15 years before moving back to her hometown of Plymouth, IN to start Noteworthy Music School, a community-minded music school dedicated to helping young artists in the area experience the magic of music and theater. Kubleys music, comedy, video works, and evening-length multimedia performance pieces have been presented at various music venues, (Lincoln Hall, Metro, Subterranean, Schubas, Constellation, Donald E Stevens Convention Center), listening rooms, storytelling events, performance salons, (Salonathon, Chicago Home Theater Festival, CHIRP Radios First Taste, Chicago Cultural Center, David and Reva Logan Center for the Arts) and theater/music events (The Fly Honey Show, Taste of Chicago) throughout Chicago. The music of Celine Neon, Maggies feminist-forward pop duo, has been featured in national commercials and has performed in venues throughout Chicago and Los Angeles. The Chicago Tribune described Kubley as compelling and one-of-a-kind and The Chicago Reader hailed her boisterous production and infectious pop melodies. Kubleys genre-blending 2019 musical Come Over was featured in Steppenwolf Theaters Lookout Series and enjoyed sold-out audiences. In 2022, Kubley premiered her second evening-length musical work at Chicagos Den Theater, courtesy of a grant from Chicagos Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events. Recent residencies include High Concept Labs (Chicago), Salonathon @ UChicago: Chicago Performance Lab (Chicago), and Bethany Arts Community (Ossining, NY).
