Mania Blooms at Midnight and Noon is a sensory-rich, immersive art experience that invites participants to sneak into the surreal garden of a time-warping trickster wizard. Guided by a host—and haunted by choice—visitors encounter two living installations, each inhabited by a Yoruba orisha who uses movement and voice to tell emotional stories rooted in the bipolar experience: one of sadness, one of rage.
The audience must choose a path. Each orisha tries to enchant visitors into staying. The garden, split between the hours of midnight and noon, becomes a space where time, mood, and myth dissolve into one. Paper-based environments come alive with LED lights, herbaceous scents, and layered soundscapes delivered via silent party headphones synced to each path’s performance. The host, however, reminds visitors: you came here for the time-traveling flower. Will you take it... or become part of the garden forever?
With over 100 offerings from rebellious circus, delicious dance, fearless theatre and activist art to workshops, parties, and more Cannonball pushes the boundaries of live performance at four different venues this Fringe. Come as you are and stay past bedtime at cannonballfestival.org.
