MY MIND IS MADE UP is a one-person show that chronicles documentary filmmaker Katie Hyde’s journey through anxiety, motherhood, and the absurd, often hilarious process of trying to live more sanely in a world that feels like it’s on fire.
The show traces her 7-year journey through a bizarre meditation technique that reveals her mind is made up of pictures, and that if she burns them up, something true will remain.
Using raw storytelling, layered projections, and a lot of humor, the show ultimately asks: What happens when we let go of what our minds are made up of and return to the present moment, clear headed? Could that be the actual way to start to build a better world?
MY MIND IS MADE UP was originally developed in Matt Hoverman’s GO-SOLO Workshop.

Katie Hyde is an award-winning storyteller and filmmaker, and the founder of Indie City Films, a boutique film and video production company based in NYC. She's thrilled to create a documentary-style piece of theater that's not only about her life but actually helped her understand it. Ah, art!
Note from Katie: Thanks, Cannonball and Philly Fringe!! Thanks to the best creative team ever! Thanks to all the people who have supported this show along the way! It take a village!!!!! Sending you all my love and gratitude.
