Sometimes questions keep us up at night. Sometimes those same questions make us stay in bed. All Day. This fun physical theatre piece asks the question: why does it matter if I get out of bed in the morning?

Through a semi absurdist lens, Roominate invites the audience to entertain a world that lives a couple inches above reality. A world in which you can have it out with your bed.

Roominate sheds a light of some of the heaviness that us humans can take on when life feels grandly large and obscenely small at the same time. With a 40 minute run time this play packs a punch and holds your hand all at once.

Nuance and mental health are a marriage made in heaven (or maybe therapy) in the world of this play. And by world... We mean bedroom. Why feel alone with the thoughts many of us have struggled to understand when instead we could be in a theater with a room full of strangers laughing at two actors. Let's ruminate. Come for the quick quippy witty writing and stay for the pillow talk.

About the Artist

Emma and Claire have been working on creative projects together since 2018 and plan on doing so until the day they die. They will die on the same day. Annnyyywayy. Emma Sarah Davis is the main playwright of the two with other plays including I'm Trash and So Are You, The Grief Department, and A Hanukkah Story. Claire has held a crutial editing role in all of these plays and has acted in several. Emma is more of the numbers guy and Claire is more of the ideas guy except on days when the roles are reversed. The two have their roots in devised theatre practices including Action Theatre. While the two work together in figuring out the muck of this world, they ask you to come along and step into a world that's living three inches above reality. Maybe from up here we can gain a little perspective.
