what does grief look like? smell like? taste like? sound like? starfish the clown explores the question over a ridiculous journey through play, loss, sensation, and recovery. throughout the show, audience members will be invited into the fun.

About the Artist

pauli reese is an improviser, clown, musician, and creator. They are on a mission to build bridges across lines of difference through courageous storytelling. They've created shows, performed, and/or studied at The Yale Institute for Sacred Music, The Yale School of Drama, The Juilliard School, Freestyle Love Supreme Academy, Good Good Comedy, The PIT NYC, The Tank NYC, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. During the lockdowns they founded the podcast company uncommon good media, committed to putting content on the internet to help people stop hating each other. They are the creator of Off the Record: the Improvised Music Documentary, now in residence at Sawubona Creativity Project. Recent collaborations include: John Hanson (PATCO), Tarik Davis (The Amber Ruffin Show), Anthony "Two-Touch" Veneziale (Freestyle Love Supreme, In The Heights, Co-Founders the Musical), Hope Hall (Harris/Walz for President, Barack Obama for President), Wendall Harrington (Chris Rock, Total Blackout).
