Come worship at the Church of Shirley... A lesbionic romp through narrative storytelling and drag artistry, The Dirty Shirley Show! is a night you'll never forget. Shirley is an alien princess drag queen from Venus AND the messiest dyke on Earth, simultaneously. What fun! A new collaboration between Sara Mascelli and Violet Regan, this debaucherous play is made of original music, crowd work, stand-up, and queer community - ALL introducing you to Philadelphia's premiere eclectic "alien freak"! It's a lesbionic theatrical event for the ages, determined to make you leave the theatre feeling happy, homosexual, or (hopefully) both.
Sara Mascelli is a participant in Philly Fringe Postcards, peer-to-peer review experiment created for the 2025 Fringe by Savannah Reich.
With over 100 offerings from rebellious circus, delicious dance, fearless theatre and activist art to workshops, parties, and more Cannonball pushes the boundaries of live performance at four different venues this Fringe. Come as you are and stay past bedtime at cannonballfestival.org.

Broadening the scope of what it means to be a drag queen, Shirley is the brainchild of nonbinary Playwright and recent Arcadia (RIP UArts) graduate, Sara Mascelli. Making this work means that they are proudly forging a path towards radical queer representation in the musical-theatre space, by narrativizing and expanding upon the classic nightlife experience and melding the drag-show format with one-act storytelling techniques. Violet Regan serves as the Director of this premiere production, providing her keen aesthetic eye and knack for campy comedy to the wonderful world of Shirley. Regan is also a UArts survivor, and a recent Temple graduate. Mascelli and Regan are thrilled to be making their Philadelphia Fringe debut together as producing partners, with the integral support of Cannonball Festival.
