The Space We Hold starts with something very ordinary: a group of people sharing the same space.

When we are around other people, we are constantly making small adjustments. We move closer, step aside, wait, follow, change direction, or find ourselves moving with someone without planning to. These everyday actions became the starting point for the choreography.

In the studio, I worked with the dancers through walking, repetition, changes of direction and simple movement tasks. We allows the group to keep changing. A movement might begin with one dancer and be picked up by someone else. Several bodies might briefly find the same rhythm before separating again. At other times, one small decision can change where everyone else goes.

There is no single story behind these encounters. The work stays with the physical experience of being together: noticing another body, responding to it, making room for it, or choosing a different path.

The Space We Hold asks what a group creates simply by being present together, and how quickly that shared space can change.
