Uncle Dick vs. Cauczilla is my Uncle Dick’s theatrical apology for his racist ways. He is taking to the stage to offer a grand gesture and make amends with his nephew. Attempting to create a piece of theater that will prove he’s not a racist, not a bad guy, not a dick uncle, Uncle Dick turns to song, dance, and elaborate science fiction storytelling to perform the “work” that he has done. Leaning on the safety of a fantastical story told by an idiot, Uncle Dick creates a scifi apology that allows for audiences to point and laugh at the horror of whiteness and skewer the straight white male together one last time... possibly destroying him/them forever...
Cannonball, produced by Almanac Dance Circus Theatre, is the first and largest independent festival hub of the Philadelphia Fringe that presents risk-taking independent artists in back-to-back performances next to delicious lounge spaces, fostering creative collisions and community conversation.

Ryan Pater is a Philly-based classically tamed actor, deadly serious deadpan educator, carolina-woods-born-singer-song-weaver, and a master in fine farted clowning. Ryan wishes everyday he was born in the future and attempts to make this dreams come true through his art; fine sci-fi performance with a dash of stupid and sublime. Ryan believes that we are all singers, writers, clowns, and dying.
