This is a solo about my memories and what I see. I am able to use my perception to look farther and deeper, and it is a navigation of understanding. I will not be able to understand everything, but I understand that. All living things are dancing, and I refuse to believe otherwise. I see patterns and formations as my body and other bodies around me walk down the street. I am curious to know where each person is going or coming from. I think about if I stop moving, how will it affect those around me? I notice various speeds of strides and how each set of hips sways uniquely. I remember the first time I was here. The last time I danced was right now. I find more awareness of my own body by stepping out, stepping back in, forgetting and remembering. I will figure out why my body walks and what walking is. I will take a step. I will remember. I will dance. I still imagine like I used to. Being here alone makes me feel strange and extraordinary.
With over 100 offerings from rebellious circus, delicious dance, fearless theatre and activist art to workshops, parties, and more Cannonball pushes the boundaries of live performance at four different venues this Fringe. Come as you are and stay past bedtime at cannonballfestival.org.
