Variance, Ritual for a Home: A video projection experience, considering the life and rituals that belong to a home, allowing the viewer to see through walls and share in the interior expression of a Black family as they navigate an often hostile exterior world. The Colored Girls Museum is the architectural site and spiritual home of the ritual performance, which combines AR Portraits to enliven the garden, video projection onto the building’s facade, live performance and the kind of warm hospitality common to the Black household.
Museum of Black Joy Mission: To cultivate, celebrate, commemorate and circulate stories that center Black Joy
