Walk Around Philadelphia: Virtual Info Session
Explore the city’s edge—from the comfort of home.
Curious about Walk Around Philadelphia but not sure where to begin?
Join us via Zoom for a dynamic and interactive session that will introduce you to this unique 100+ mile walking project, which invites participants to explore the city’s perimeter on foot.
Whether you’re thinking about joining a future walk, wondering how it all works, or just intrigued by the idea of walking the edge of Philly, this session is for you.
What to expect
Much like the walk itself, this virtual experience will be shaped by the participants. It may include:
• A virtual tour of the city’s edge and the surprising features it reveals
• Stories, maps, and photos from past walk experiences
• Answers to frequently (and rarely!) asked questions about how it all works
• A look at what’s next for Walk Around Philadelphia — and how you can be involved
There’s no need to have walked before — this session is open to newcomers and returners alike.

Our mission is to create transformative opportunities for learning, reflection, and connection by inviting people to walk the city’s edges, explore the landscapes of our parks and public spaces, and imagine a more equitable and welcoming Philadelphia. Through walking, storytelling, mapping, and creative collaboration, we inspire people to care for the natural and built environment, engage with one another across lines of difference, and contribute to a more vibrant, livable community for all.
Walk Around Philadelphia founder JJ Tiziou is an artist, community organizer & massage therapist based in West Philadelphia. His 85, 000 sq ft How Philly Moves mural at Philadelphia International Airport is the largest piece of public art in the city and was named one of the nation's best public art projects by Americans for the Arts. To date, he has walked the full perimeter of Philadelphia 15 times and is joined by a growing community of Circumnavigators.
