Critically acclaimed singer Rosemary George returns to with her masterclass Hiding Behind the Mask: jesters, jokers, and clowns. ‘Distinguished Teaching Award’ finalist at the Borough of Manhattan Community College, Rosemary created and taught a Music Certificate Program for Hunter College’s Continuing Education Department. Baruch College presented her in a performance/lecture demonstration titled: Billie Holiday’s Café Society at Engleman Recital Hall. Other college and university recital/masterclasses includes: New York University, Hofstra University, Dartmouth College and the University of Vermont. As an international singer, Rosemary George has been featured at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Jerash Festival (Jordan), Hong Kong Cultural Centre, and numerous venues in London: Leicester Square Theatre (Main House and Lounge), Barbican Center Foyer Series, Jermyn Street Theatre and St. James’s Piccadilly and Octave Jazz Club. For several seasons, she gave performance/lectures and workshops on America’s Popular Music at the Theatre Museum (Covent Garden). In New York, Rosemary has been featured at Lincoln Center Outdoors, Avery Fisher Hall, Waterloo Festival, Beethoven Festivals, Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, among others.
