For the first time since it was originally produced, EgoPo will present a reading of the first American play published and produced in America, Prince of Parthia (1767) by Thomas Godfrey, along with the highly provocative play of the abolitionist era, Gladiator (1831) by Robert Montgomery Bird. Produced in collaboration with Carpenter Hall, these pieces will take place over two weekends. Prince of Parthia Performing Sept 11-13 and Gladiator performing Sept 18-20 at 6pm.
Guests will want to secure tickets to each weekend to see both readings. Philadelphia Revolutions is the first event in EgoPo's 25-26 Season celebrating 250 years of Philadelphia Playwrights.

EgoPo re-envisions the classic canon by re-introducing diverse works and re-bodying existing canonical works to ensure a wide range of voices, bodies and stories are shared on our stages. We honor and re-awaken these classic texts through a rigorous practice fusing psychological and physical acting and staging. We curate season-long journeys that foster an inclusive audience space for shared experiences and human connection across cultures and communities.
Contact the Fringe Festival Box Office for up to date accessibility information.
