Overview

At 32, Isaac is dead. His mother, brother, sister, pregnant widow, and formally estranged father observe traditional shiva practices, honoring Isaac’s transition from a culturally Jewish upbringing to Modern Orthodoxy. But it’s only the fourth day of seven, a shelter-in-place warning is issued, and with each drink, his mother’s tongue loosens. As the family clings to the memory of Isaac’s goodness, some things refuse to stay buried. Staged in the first floor of a row home, this immersive theatrical experience will give new meaning to living room drama.

About the Artist

Uncertain Theatre Co. (UTC) brings together three theatre artists who found each other through union organizing at Temple University, though they probably saw each other in class, too. United by a commitment to consequential theatre and their just-completed terminal degrees, Taylor Harlow, Jaime Jarrett, and Jolie London-Glickman present their premiere production for Philly Fringe, inviting audiences to experience some living room drama (literally performed in a Center City living room). Individually, their work has been seen at The New York International Fringe Festival, Joe’s Pub at The Public Theatre, Astra Theatre Company, Music Theatre Kansas City, The National Alliance for Musical Theatre, and Playbill Pride in Times Square.
