Overview

You’ll Grow Out of It is a debut solo show by Bliss Button-Hale. Exploring the relationship between chronic illness and the social pressure of growing up and fitting in, it’s a contemporary circus production filled with emotion, transparency, and diagnosed comedic relief. Bliss is a multidisciplinary circus artist who grew up homeschooled in rural Tennessee, where her picture-of-health mother assured her that she would grow out of her many childhood ailments. Now, in her 20s, as a professional athletic performer, she’s still holding out hope for her panacea growth spurt. Come laugh, cry, and share a human experience. Old or young, Love it or hate it, we know you’ll grow out of it.

About the Artist

Circus Bliss is a Nashville-based contemporary circus company driven by a vibrant curiosity of the collective human experience, as it parallels the passionate personal experience. Founder and creative director, Bliss Button-Hale, is an activist, artist, educator, and avid digital creator. Circus Bliss started as an online presence to showcase the lifestyle of a circus career path, and has expanded to include full-length live productions. Circus Bliss’ mission is to get audiences thinking, questioning what is “normal,” and finding agency in our individual choices—movement with a message.
