Overview

Alice: not your child’s Wonderland
Adapted by Dane Eissler & Jenna Kuerzi
Directed by Dane Eissler

You are invited to the party of a lifetime at a lavish estate along the Delaware River. As festivities devolve into debaucherous bacchanalia, Alice and her older sister hide from the adults, comforted by a familiar bedtime story. The two worlds clash and fuse into a topsy-turvy Wonderland as they seek out safety in a world without boundaries. Sip champagne and nibble hors d’eouvres under Glen Foerd’s open-air performance tent for this bold reenvisioning of Lewis Carroll’s beloved children’s story, which is not for children.

“Eissler’s talents are prodigious and precocious; his future work must be watched” -Broad Street Review

Jenna Kuerzi (Adaptor) is an actor and singer making new (and lifting old!) work. Jenna has worked regionally with the Arden, Tribe of Fools, 11th Hour, Shakespeare in Clark Park, Philadelphia Young Playwrights, Revolution Shakespeare, and more. Jenna's solo-ish show, "Johnny Depp: A Retrospective on Late-Stage Capitalism", (co-created with Val Dunn) traveled to the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe, sold out at Fergie's Pub, and has spun off into the podcast Depp Impact, available on iTunes, Spotify, and wherever one can listen to podcasts. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Jenna started "Dumpster Fires For You" (@dumpsterfiresforyou on Instagram, Facebook, and Etsy), making 100% soy candles using essential oils and up-cycled materials. jennakuerzi.com @lessthanamuffin She/Her
