Written by Lee Hoiby and performed by Susan Weinman and pianist Pen Ying Fang it is comprised of music draped over the words and gestures of Julia Child, the mother-of-all-foodies!
October 3rd 8pm live streamed on and Facebook live. Following the Philadelphia premiere of this great work by Aurora Classical at the 2015 fringe festival it has become a crowd favorite selling out at it’s venue! “It’s hysterical” said Susan Weinman “although this production’s version of Julia is no more the real Julia than Dan Akroyd’s performance was, she is more like a demented cousin and not at all meant to be a true depiction of this great lady. If this piece inspires someone to see more opera or learn about cooking then our job has been done.” ABOUT AURORA CLASSICAL OF CULTURETRUST GREATER PHILADELPHIA “All of the quality, none of the pretense.” Right now in 2020 our immediate goal is to get freelance musicians back to work ASAP doing live streamed, outdoor and indoor small safe concerts for the duration of the pandemic. Aurora Classical

Aurora Classical's mission is to excite people about classical music! Our goal is to share the art to those who may not have seen it up close and personal before, to give them the comfort and hope only classical music can provide and an opportunity for professional classical performers to share their work.

Aurora Classical takes its name and inspiration from the news paper "Philadelphia Aurora" which was founded by Benjamin Franklin Bache, grandson to Benjamin Franklin. The paper stood for the rights of "yeoman farmers","planters" and the "plain folk". We believe classical music is for everyone no matter your budget!
