At the Classical Open Mic Matinee, we schedule several incredible professional musicians as guest artists to start the event and then anyone can get up and perform up to 5 min of classical music. You never know what you are going to see at the Classical Open Mic Matinee! Come join in the fun! No need to sign up ahead of time. Everyone is welcome! Enjoy live classical music in a fun space. Zero-proof cocktails and snacks provided. Can’t wait to hear you! Or simply come and listen, it’s a truly unique experience!

About the Artist

Classical music is a lot of fun and we strive to give free lance musicians the opportunity to share that joy as much as possible!

Our name was inspired by a newspaper publication founded by Benjamin Franklin Bache called “Philadelphia Aurora.” Bache was a grandson of Benjamin Franklin, and his paper stood for the rights of “yeoman farmers,” “planters,” and “plain folk.”

Aurora Classical’s mission is to provide classical music without all the perceived pretense that can get in the way of its enjoyment.

Our dual goal is to make the classical music repertory accessible to all, whether to first time listeners or sophisticated audiences, and to provide opportunities for our talented local artists in doing so.
