Overview

In fall 2023, Philadelphia was named a national center for clowns; by winter, the Clown Slam was born! In this homegrown monthly cabaret of truth, antics, buffoonery, innocence, & experience, a rotation of local clowns of various types assemble to perform brief bits & experiment with new material.

With over 100 offerings from rebellious circus, delicious dance, fearless theater and activist art to workshops, parties, and more Cannonball pushes the boundaries of live performance at four different venues this Fringe. The Philly Clown Slam is an ever-evolving beast of an event - a vehicle (clown car?) for clowns of any kind to come and experiment, and the cast of characters is rotating! We like it this way.
