Overview

‘it’s better when you close your eyes’

A theatrical meditation on grief, depression, identity crisis, nostalgia, isolation in a pandemic and civil rights movement, fear and love. Through movement, theater and connection, the artists build their way through waves of emotion, heartache and pain in search of joy and human connection. Somehting that may be there all along, but harder to find that we think.

BigKid Dance strives to make work that is imaginiative yet relatable, to bring people together and further understand each other. To further understand ourselves. BigKid Dance is a platofrm for self exprerssion, community and love. As we grow, we conitnue to nurture our inner child.

BigKid Dance Mark Caserta, Choreographer

BigKid Dance is a small queer creative community based in Philadelphia. We create collaborative, heartfelt and thought-provoking dance works. Our goal is to continue to remain young at heart. To nurture a safe, healthy and loving environment for artists to thrive. For people to share their voices, express and heal through art and movement. BigKid is grounded, compassionate, vibrant and vulnerable. Tender, carefree, determined and wise. We hope to connect more to ourselves and to community through our work and artistic practice.
