Overview

Julia’s Room is a coming of age story, but the coming of age of what? Growing up, Julia always knew she was different from the others. This story reconstructs a narrative about growing up queer in a heteronormative domestic environment.

Centered around the miniature site of her room, Julia gives you a tour of her room through interactive performance and projections. Join Julia in navigating these imagined yet familiar spaces.

About the Artist

Dave Hannon, he/him, is a curator, artist, and educator based in Philadelphia. He is currently in a PhD Program at Drexel University in Digital Media and an assistant curator at PRACTICE Gallery. He has received an MFA in Visual Art from UMASS Amherst and a Bachelors in Art from Syracuse University. His work has been exhibited in Western Massachusetts; Kansas City, MI; Portland, Oregon; New York City, Philadelphia and Boston, recently having a solo show at PRACTICE Gallery in 2021, with an upcoming solo show at Westbeth Gallery in NYC and a previous collaborative show at Drexel University called Julias Room.
