Stuck in an airport of absurdist proportions with only their baggage—literal and metaphorical—three strangers are left with no choice but to better get to know their companions and themselves.
A comedy that fuses juggling and circus with dance and music, LAYOVERS explores collisions and near misses, as well as the age-old problem of how to go to the bathroom without leaving your luggage unattended.
LAYOVERS “descends inexorably and entertainingly, into chaos”, and is a visual delight for any audience that includes confetti and play-pit balls LAYOVERS is the opposite of having to sleep in an airport overnight.
This fall, Circus Campus Presents, a vibrant hub within the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, invites you to a unique experience. Since its inception in 2017, Circus Campus has woven a tapestry of community, uniting teachers, students, performers, & creators. Located in West Mt. Airy, the campus is a creatively repurposed church, just a short walk from Upsal Station. From September 6-29, enjoy 12 diverse circus and variety shows, by artists based far and wide, over four weekends. Who knows, you might even find yourself on a tightwire or trapeze! Learn MoreLAYOVERS is performed by Dani Bobbi Lee, Nicholas Strange, and Stacey Strange. Together they make up the management team of Air Temple Arts, an aerial dance and circus school in New Haven, CT. Between them they have written, directed, and performed in all manner of shows and all types of acts. LAYOVERS was collaboratively created over the past two years and (with few exceptions) has been an extremely fun project to work on. They are excited to be able to bring the magical feeling of getting stuck in an airport to audiences throughout the east coast!
