MOMMA i RODE THE BEAST! is a hyper meta-physical dive into the indulgences of undercurrents that shapes our social and political landscapes, and stores itself in BODY. Through a series of horrific metamorphoses and ruptured happenings as a gothic queer existential necromantic wrestling inquisition with the BULL OF CHAOS, Jordan Deal questions the fugitivity to come thereafter~after it’s rode good.
Through the sun of fawnings /dust devil/waterspout–Jordan Deal continues their investigation of language, phsyci and emotional geography, forces, and its intersection with the colonial project–the infectious extraction of empire through the HEAD OF STATE and global projects. In ritual and self examination/dissection, Deal uses their body as a way to channel networks of ancestral/the undead voices in what harnesses in celebration, mythology, oral storytelling, secret passageways that erupt through floorboards [in tongue] through whispers, deities of (de)construction, and mournings to the undeaddead.
Cannonball, produced by Almanac Dance Circus Theatre, is the first and largest independent festival hub of the Philadelphia Fringe that presents risk-taking independent artists in back-to-back performances next to delicious lounge spaces, fostering creative collisions and community conversation.
Learn MoreJordan Deal, also known as ROSEKILLJUPITER, is a Philadelphia based multidisciplinary practitioner and alchemist. Their investigative practice uses performance, sound, and image as a conduit between unseen forces and the materializations of socio-political structures. Through the use of collected sound field recordings, video/film documenta, and real-time autobiographical myth fabrication, Deal explores dialectics, borders and territories; blackness as creative destruction; historical artifacts; the tropes of superhero/villain; undead knowledge; and counter-active channels of potentiality that exists against global colonialism and imperialism’s frameworks and mappings.
