OFF THE RECORD: THE IMPROVISED MUSICAL DOCUMENTARY!

OTR is an improvised musical documentary — THIS IS SPINAL TAP meets BEHIND THE MUSIC. You’ll experience a band’s rise to super stardom and their inevitable fall into obscurity. (And maybe, a little redemption.) Most impressively: you’ll hear their number-one singles, deep cuts, and B-sides; all played LIVE, all improvised, every show!

 

About the Artist

pauli reese (Musical Director, Keyboards, Performer)

pauli reese (they/them) is a musical improviser, technologist, and singer. They have produced, designed, and/or performed in shows for The Philly Improv Theater, Good Good Comedy, Freestyle Love Supreme Academy, Yale University, The Tank NYC, and most recently with ComedySportz in The Improv Double Feature with One Big Happy, holding degrees in music from Western Illinois University and the Yale Institute of Sacred Music

Recent collaborators include: Tarik Davis (Baby Wants Candy, The Amber Ruffin Show), Anthony “Two-Touch Veneziale” (Freestyle Love Supreme), and He Huang (2022 Edinburgh Fringe, Australia’s Got Talent). During the lockdowns, they co-founded and accompanied Listen Lurkers: an Improvised e-Musical with Claire Halberstadt and Scott Hughes of Thank You, Places.
