Overview

RUB MY KITTEN investigates the widened edges of indulgence as a radical act of self-care and as an invitation toward collective liberation. Each show will be unique to the day as the audience is invited to witness an occasion of live self-making taken on by a dance, and live sound scores and suspended ego trip. Here, we welcome the absurd.

With over 100 offerings from rebellious circus, delicious dance, fearless theater and activist art to workshops, parties, and more Cannonball pushes the boundaries of live performance at four different venues this Fringe. About the Artist

Rayven was born and raised in Winston-Salem, NC where she studied dance at the University North Carolina School of the Arts. Later, she went on to receive her BFA in Theater Arts with a concentration in dance from Howard University. Throughout her matriculation at Howard, Rayven was able to study at various dance institutions such as American Dance Festival, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and Dallas Black Dance Theater. After undergrad she was fortunate enough to secure a position during a global shut down as a company member of B.Moore Dance in Dallas, Texas. For almost a year she learned work through zoom until she was able to finally move to Dallas and join the company in person. In hopes of deepening her understanding around the things she cares about, Rayven started graduate school at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA summer 2023. During her time at UArts she has been able to study at Institut Chorgraphique InternationalCCN in Montpellier. This experience at UArts has invariably reignited her love for art, people, and community in a special way. These days Rayven is interested in practices of liberation and freedom across lands and generations. Her practices as a dancer, choreographer, dj and writer have all been enlivened across the landscape of collective desire.
