Experience a live installation where you receive, and prescribe, unorthodox therapy based on Abyss: The Greatest Proposal Ever — a dramatic narrative short film about the wild adventures of an Army Officer who gets stranded by SEPTA when a botched TV audition shakes up his wedding plans.
Nicole Ayers is a media producer, native to and based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She works primarily in independent film as an educator, screenwriter, and international festival curator with a focus on short films. Her work aims to create a compassionate and humane society by building bridges between different cultures, promoting and appreciation for the art of filmmaking and inspiring people to become a better version of themselves. When she's not blogging about movies or consulting filmmakers at The Madlab Post, you'll most likely find her organizing the Short Film Slam, her year-round tournament style screening series providing emerging and established filmmakers with an international platform to showcase their work. Nicole is currently making a documentary film featuring audiovisual archives chronicling more than a decade of Philly public school history through the promise, neglect, and decline of student life and unique academic programs at the district’s largest, and now demolished, state-of-the-art campus for girls.
Shot in Philadelphia, the film highlighted during this installation is made with a diverse cast and crew from the PA-NJ-DE Tri-State area, all working together to tell a story about Love, Friendship and PTSD.
