Overview

Journey alongside a college student riding the Mental Health Rollercoaster, including hairpin turns with dour psychologists, cheery game show hosts, and creepy infomercials. While tracking one young woman’s personal odyssey — with dark humor as well as unvarnished truths — The Silent Struggle (There, I Said It) solo performance also seeks to address systemic problems, including stigmas surrounding mental health issues and disparities in treatment for African Americans and other people of color.

Between 2pm to 2:45pm, concession stand will be open with food and drink available for purchase.
There will be a 15 min talkback immediately following the performance.

 

 

About the Artist

Taahira Teshi is a Philadelphia born and based actor, singer/rapper, and dancer. Taahira is a graduate of the British American Drama Academy’s Midsummer in Oxford Program, in association with Yale School of Drama and Oxford University. She holds a Master’s Degree in Theatre from Villanova University and a Bachelor’s in Theatre from Ursinus College. As a singer/rapper, Taahira's had the privilege of being the opening act for Grammy Award winning singer Elle Varner.
