JOIN US FOR A PATCHWORK OF STORIES FOR GROWN UPS
Patchwork Storytelling Guild presents a brand-new fringe fest showcase, A Patchwork of Stories for Grown Ups, honoring the oral tradition and artistry of storytelling on Sunday, September 8 @2 PM at The Rotunda, 4014 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA. Tickets are PWYC. Suggested: $15pp. Recommended for ages 13 through adult audiences. Light refreshments available.
Patchwork is celebrating the art of storytelling, elevating voices from novice to seasoned professional, and bringing a vibrant mix of styles, tales, and emotional depth to the stage with boundless enthusiasm and great anticipation!
Tellers include (in alphabetical order): Michele Belluomini, Blinky Comix, Tiffani Dean, Renee Khadijah, Maria LoBiondo, Denise McCormack, Mary Ann Paterniti, Greg Snow, Christina Sturgis, and Nancy Taylor.
According to McCormack, president of the guild and MC for the show,
“A Patchwork of Stories for Grown Ups is a favorite event for Patchwork, a vehicle to promote this incredibly important pastime and integral elevation of a way of life, of being human, of celebrating our human experiences with aplomb.
Storytelling, at its core, is a grand experiment, and it really captures the true essence of the fringe! It’s exciting!”

Michele Belluomini has been a storyteller for over 25 years, engaging audiences locally, as well as at national storytelling conferences and festivals.
Blinky Comix is a Philadelphia Folklorist following and documenting phenomena in the area.
Tiffani Dean is a professional griot who uses her gift of mixed media and textile along with storytelling skills to bring the ordinary alive.
Khadijah Renee is a versatile artist who uses her voice to do many things. Jazz vocalizing, Energy Healing, teaching, advocating, leading and storytelling.
Maria LoBiondo believes stories shared are heart-to-heart gifts. Her engaging style and lively expressions have delighted listeners locally and regionally.
Denise McCormack is a celebrated storyteller and performance artist.
As president of Patchwork and a key figure in various arts organizations, Denise has played a vital role in fostering a vibrant storytelling culture.
MaryAnn Paterniti tells traditional folk, fairy, and literary tales with an animated and engaging style.
With over 45 years as an Early Childhood Educator, she is a natural in the classroom and on the stage.
Greg Snow is a 2nd generation poet, emcee, host, and co-founder of 2 Lines open mic.His poetry is a bridge for the broken to find beauty.
Chris Sturgis is a multi-talented artist and writer. She has 25 years’ experience as a newspaper reporter, including an exclusive interview with Hillary Clinton.
Nancy Wexler Taylor is a native of Philadelphia and currently resides in Doylestown, PA.
Winning Best in Show in The Philadelphia Moth Nov.’19 and at First Person Arts in June 2023, her storytelling prowess continued to shine.
