Cannonball is the largest hub of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, championing a revolutionary artist-led model that prioritizes equity, experimentation, and community connection. Now in its sixth year, Cannonball presents more than 100 artists across five stages, representing nearly 30 percent of the overall Philadelphia Fringe Festival. From rebellious circus and delicious dance to fearless theater and activist art, Cannonball pushes the boundaries of live performance while creating a vibrant, artist-centered ecosystem for independent performance makers and adventurous audiences alike.

About the Artist
Yuchen Ye (she/her) is a Chinese-born, New York–based interdisciplinary theatre-maker. Rooted in real historical events and Chinese cultural memories, her work explores war, migration, and intergenerational memory. Through layered forms that move between live performance, film, and exhibition, her work makes the unseen visible and invites audiences into acts of collective remembering.
She is a recipient of the Contemporary Performance Award from Big Art Group and an alumna of Directors Lab North(Toronto, Canada). Her work has been presented across China, the U.K., and the U.S., including Action (Bronxville, NY), iHuman (Cambridge, U.K.), and Mr. Satie in Paper, Man Tiger (Shanghai, China). MFA, Sarah Lawrence College; BA, Shanghai Theatre Academy.
