Connect

Aqua Connection, a 60 minute mixed media Aerial Dance production (silk, rope, net, trapeze) explores a symbolic connection between humans and water. Once the artists finish, an engaged dialogue with the audience will explore how we interact with the most important resource on our planet. The intention is to bring attention, inquiry and awe to the community, as we share emotions & thoughts linked to the duality of our experience with nature.

In Aqua Connection, the audience is invited after the stage time, to stay and share their experience and feelings in a contained & respectful space of inclusivity. The moments are facilitated by the artists. All ages and comments are welcomed (stage time 45 min & 15 min R & D, of reflection/dialogue session at the end).

Aerial MIND and CIRCUS CAMPUS Presents are supporting this event at Fringe Festival 2024. Special contribution of a manipulative prototype by Greg Kennedy (Innovative Juggler.com)

This fall, Circus Campus Presents, a vibrant hub within the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, invites you to a unique experience. Since its inception in 2017, Circus Campus has woven a tapestry of community, uniting teachers, students, performers, & creators. Located in West Mt. Airy, the campus is a creatively repurposed church, just a short walk from Upsal Station. From September 6-29, enjoy 12 diverse circus and variety shows, by artists based far and wide, over four weekends. Who knows, you might even find yourself on a tightwire or trapeze! About the Artist

Aerial Mind,  as a creative and therapeutic space, has been exploring movement,  aerial dance and wellbeing since 2009. Over these past 15 years, the teachings and performances have aimed to contribute to growth and the exploration of movement in the air and emotions at the individual and collective level. The goal in the process is, paradoxically, to stay grounded in the complex human experience. As pioneer dancer Martha Graham would say, “The body does not lie”, and dancing in the air is no exception to those words.

Today, we advocate for the intersection of Climate Change & Mental Health and support self-reflection and discussion of our relationship with the natural environment and ourselves through our artistic process.
