Bodhi’s Guide to History

Celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary with Bodhi’s Guide to History, a new play. In this original work, Bodhi leads a walking tour of Center City and gives his unique – and wildly inaccurate – take on American history. Bodhi is proud to do his own research, but tends to veer hilariously off track; but don't worry, the audience will wind up where the play/tour started.

Bodhi’s Guide to History is the creation of playwright Jim Hawkins, who studied theatre at Villanova University.

Jim has been a storyteller throughout his adult life, whether working as a newspaper reporter, pastor, freelance writer or playwright and is drawn to stories that inspire audiences to work to make the world a better place. Jim studied journalism at Northwestern University, theology at Wesley Theological Seminary and theatre at Villanova University. He is a native of the Delaware Valley, and has lived in Illinois, California, the District of Columbia and Maryland. Jim is an alumnus of The Foundry, a playwright support organization for emerging Philadelphia area playwrights.
