Isabelle Clark and Madison David are the most popular girls but not popular in the way that you may be thinking popular. They are popular at gymnastics and not so much at school. Which if you think about it is actually way more impressive because school is easy and gymnastics is hard. Gymnastics is really hard.
But so is life. And their life? Is gymnastics. And their sleepovers? Full-time jobs. First to fall asleep? Youre fired. Youre dead. This is basically the olympics, in terms of stakes. Olympic sized stakes. Served rare, bleeding.
This piece investigates the question: what would you do if your best friend was lying? And just how deep does the rabbit lie inside its hole?

Tumble into a world of these two characters’ logic, where the ridiculous comes out to play. This piece mashes forms and screws with the space time continuum. Balancing on the beams of abstract, stylized gymnastics, art imitating life, layers of play and players in lairs. Bodies making shapes and lines, bodies weeping, bodies lying, and soliloquizing. All the while challenging ourselves to exist in the magic quickness of a child’s emotional life in order to honor the big awkward feelings we have at any age.

A Home for The Homemade

The Lemonade Stand strives to create a home for new work and new artists in the expansive Philadelphia arts community. We prioritize the development process, community, and partnership. We are committed to being rough around the edges, adaptive to each process, and true to the artist's vision.

A company by and for emerging theatre artists, we aim to foster and celebrate communities of artists who create beyond The Lemonade Stand. We want to bring artists of all mediums to collaborate, find community, and unlock new creative possibilities. We are successful when artists collaborate outside the Lemonade Stand and we are proud to be a part of the next generation of Philadelphia artists.

We love homemade.

About the Artist

MK and Heather– two philadelphia-based, pig-ironed, stage idiots, are cofounders of mimebaby theater. Their training and curiosities have led them to each other and into the fires of absurdism and physical language. By adopting childlike play, they thrust their bodies into work that twists words, tickles bellies, flips forms upside down and sideways. They use this pleasure-driven method of creation to highlight the unseriousness of being serious in order for people to see a grotesque version of their world and laugh at it. They are inspired by Elena Ferrante, the Vlogbrothers, Nathan Fielder, and all clowns. They aim to make audiences squirm and delight in their questionable audacity.
