Connect

Do it for me is a wet, one-person performance that explodes ideas of gender and domestic labor through the act of washing laundry, crawling around, cursing dry people, and throwing wet clothes into the air. This is what happens when doing laundry is too much and the performer is mad.

Cannonball is the largest hub of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, championing a revolutionary artist-led model that prioritizes equity, experimentation, and community connection. Now in its sixth year, Cannonball presents more than 100 artists across five stages, representing nearly 30 percent of the overall Philadelphia Fringe Festival. From rebellious circus and delicious dance to fearless theater and activist art, Cannonball pushes the boundaries of live performance while creating a vibrant, artist-centered ecosystem for independent performance makers and adventurous audiences alike.

About the Artist

Bao Nguyen is a performance and visual artist based in Baltimore and raised in Vietnam. They improvise through movement, action, voice and words to unravel a range of emotions. Recently, they recited Cardi B’s “WAP”, rolled in a blanket while being naked, ate soil, scolded the audience and asked for their keys. Bao messes up the context of DIY and institutional spaces they perform in to uncover collective intimacy, openness and vulnerability.
