Residue Solo is a durational performance built around a single, distilled movement. As the final work in a three-part series, it carries forward the larger project’s gradual reduction of form, arriving at an action that is repeated, sustained, and allowed to change through time. The performance attends to endurance, repetition, and the subtle shifts that emerge when there is nowhere else to go. Rather than building toward accumulation or spectacle, Residue Solo stays with what remains after excess has been stripped away: a body, a movement, and the vibrations that persist at their edges.
Cannonball is the largest hub of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, championing a revolutionary artist-led model that prioritizes equity, experimentation, and community connection. Now in its sixth year, Cannonball presents more than 100 artists across five stages, representing nearly 30 percent of the overall Philadelphia Fringe Festival. From rebellious circus and delicious dance to fearless theater and activist art, Cannonball pushes the boundaries of live performance while creating a vibrant, artist-centered ecosystem for independent performance makers and adventurous audiences alike.

About the Artist
Kat Brown is a multidisciplinary artist working across dance, performance, and visual art. Her work has been presented throughout New York City at Center for Performance Research and Triskelion Arts. Across the United States, she has shown work at CounterPulse and Fort Mason Center for the Arts in San Francisco, and at Icebox Project Space in Philadelphia as a Cannonball artist at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. Internationally, her work has been presented by Choreographic Figures and Impulstanz in Vienna, Lake Studios in Berlin, and Sozo and Visions in Motion in Kassel.
Her practice has been supported by residencies and fellowships including Impulstanz’s Atlas Program, Performing Arts Forum, LEIMAY, Motive Brooklyn, and Sozo. Kat holds an MFA in Performance and Performance Studies from Pratt Institute and an MA in Performance Studies from New York University, with additional training through Gibney and Melanie Maar’s Process as Guide DIY MFA.
