“There is nothing more wildly expensive and wasteful than our current for-profit healthcare system.  Private health insurers price gouge, defraud taxpayers, and deprive patients of care at every level. We deserve #MedicareforAll.”
—Ady Barkan, attorney, healthcare activist and co-founder of the Be a Hero PAC (Died November 1, 2023 due to complications of ALS)

If you find yourself wanting to talk, rant, cry, and scream about all the things wrong with healthcare, then this is an event you don’t want to miss.  Visual and performing artists from Philly’s Medicare for All Movement (M4A), a grassroots healthcare advocacy group, challenged one another to collaboratively create mixed-media performance pieces that express the injustice of the American healthcare system.  This project is the product of professional, emerging and non-professional artists from M4A coming together to make works of visual art, puppetry, music and performance for Philly audiences to witness and contemplate.

Our band of merry makers longs for a society that meets everyone’s basic human needs - access to adequate healthcare is a human right!  Come hang with us for an hour so we can educate, entertain and inspire you with our ideas, raucousness, reverence, and hope for a healthier tomorrow.  Hear us express to you the woes of the current healthcare system and present our vision for something better.  Who knows? We may even share some laughs.

Optional audience participation is encouraged, especially for the know-it-alls who have some strong opinions about Luigi, Medicare for All, for-profit healthcare systems, insurance companies, Medicaid, disability justice, health disparities, and all other related matters.

This event is BYOS: Bring your own ‘Healthcare is a human right!’ sign.

*If you don’t have one, don’t worry.  Signs will be provided for all attendees.
