About the Artist

Born and raised in Norf (north) Philadelphia, Squirt creates work rooted in resilience, memory, and transformation. Having experienced profound loss at an early age, including the passing of his mother, the artist's life has been shaped by many of the same challenges that define underserved urban communities. Confronted with circumstances that have too often limited opportunity for others, Squirt chose a different path—one grounded in perseverance, self-discovery, and creative expression.

His paintings emerge from that journey. Drawing from personal experience, neighborhood memory, grief, struggle, faith, and hope, Squirt builds densely layered visual worlds where the realities of North Philadelphia coexist with imagination, symbolism, and aspiration. Rowhomes, handwritten text, community landmarks, and recurring figures become part of a larger narrative about survival, identity, and what it means to create possibility where others see limitation.

For LSD, art is both archive and testimony. Each canvas preserves fragments of lived experience while transforming them into something larger than autobiography. As he continues to navigate life, the artist increasingly uses his work to share a story of resilience, determination, and perseverance—not as an individual achievement, but as a reflection of the strength found within communities that continue to create beauty despite adversity.

Through his art, LSD invites viewers into a world where grief becomes growth, memory becomes legacy, and survival becomes creation. Emerging from Philadelphia with a distinct visual language and perspective, he represents a new generation of artists documenting not only where they come from, but where they believe they can go.
