Is This Thing On?

Adam Bradley

This hilarious, soulful, and deeply human, music woven solo show traces one man’s journey from Yale singing fame to Wall Street, fatherhood, grief, and creative rebirth.

Performed by Adam Bradley, the show moves through a series of wildly entertaining and emotionally revealing chapters: a high school talent show that changes everything, the manic world of Yale singing celebrity, failed music dreams in New York and Los Angeles, accidental boy-band absurdity, the pressure cooker of corporate recruiting and hedge fund life, falling in love, raising twin boys, losing a mother, and ultimately rediscovering art after years of performance in every sense of the word.

Through original songs, sharp comedy, and deeply personal storytelling, Bradley brings audiences into the tension between the lives we imagine for ourselves and the ones we ultimately build. One moment he’s dodging emotional collapse in a rusted-out Volvo in Los Angeles; the next he’s sprinting through Grand Central in a suit, trying not to be late for another day inside the machinery of corporate America. The stories are specific, surprising, and often hilarious — but the emotional questions are universal.

At its core, the show is about identity: who we become to survive, what we lose along the way, and whether it’s possible to find our way back to ourselves after years of striving, performing, and trying to hold everything together.

About the Artist

Adam Bradley is a writer, musician, performer, photographer, and lifelong creative.

Raised in the Catskills of New York, Adam discovered music early and spent much of his life moving between artistic and professional worlds — from performing on college stages and touring internationally, to songwriting in New York and Los Angeles, to a long career in business and executive leadership.

His current project, Is This Thing On?, is a multimedia solo show blending live music, storytelling, humor, and visual imagery - and explores the tension between creativity, ambition, identity, and the quiet cost of compromise.

He lives in Stamford, Connecticut with his wife, twin boys who now beat him handily in tennis, and two parakeets that double as backup vocalists.
