Virginia Beach native and longtime Philly resident Rebekah Rickards is a comedian, choreographer, educator, and producer. She creates character and movement-based narratives that celebrate human fate, failure, and inevitable victory. Music, dance, absurd realities, and inclusive play-along fun are some of the most valuable bricks in her art bank.
She produces a monthly comedy cabaret; Jazz Baby, Live!, on the third Thursday of every month at the iconic Trestle Inn. Rebekah, as Jazz Baby, also hosts ‘Thank You, Places!’; an improvised musical on the final Thursday of every month at Tavern on Camac.
Other original characters include Miss Hamm; a 92-year-old, rapping granny who leads BINGO! benefits and epic lip sync battles and Philly’s favorite motivational party starter Dr. Thunder brought pussy power to the Philly Dyke March this year as a featured performer.
Jazz Baby, Dr. Thunder, and Miss Hamm are only a few of the many comedic characters Rebekah has created and performed to bring the PARTY to audiences everywhere. Follow IG @rebekah.rickards to stay connected on future shows and workshops.
