Bring your curiosity and sense of play to Love Beyond the Surface, an interactive experience exploring what love means for ourselves and others ranging from a person, place, thing, memory, passion, or possibility.
What happens when we move beyond small talk and surface-level stories? Through magnetic poetry, word games, collaborative storytelling, improv, and creative prompts, participants are invited to share memories, make connections, and contribute to a living tapestry of stories. Create poems, build stories, experiment with words, and discover unexpected perspectives alongside friends and strangers alike.
Audience members become collaborators, generating quirky, funny, heartfelt, and surprising material that inspires live improvisation throughout the event. Watch as performers transform audience created words, reflections, and stories into spontaneous scenes unfolding in real time.
Whether you love making art, telling stories, playing games, meeting new people, or simply observing, Love Beyond the Surface offers a welcoming space to participate however you'd like. There is no right way to engage—just an invitation to notice, connect, play, and contribute.
Come ready to answer one simple question:
"I love ______ because..."
Your answer might spark a conversation, inspire a doodle, become part of a poem, or transform into a story brought to life before your eyes.
Doodle Oracle Sessions ✨
For those who'd like an extra moment of playful reflection, a limited number of Doodle Oracle Sessions will be available. For $10, reserve a private 10-minute lighthearted conversation about something you love—a person, place, memory, passion, or everyday joy. As we chat, I'll create a one-of-a-kind doodle inspired by your story for you to take home.
These sessions are creative, conversational, and just for fun—they are not therapy or counseling. Sign-ups will be available during the event, and space is limited.

Hollis Citron is a multidisciplinary storyteller, Creativity Doula, seasoned art educator, and founder of I Am Creative, a platform dedicated to making creativity accessible to everyone. Her work centers on connection, collaboration, and helping people rediscover creativity as an essential part of being human—not just something reserved for artists. Through immersive experiences, interactive storytelling, community art-making, and playful experimentation, Hollis creates spaces where people feel empowered to express themselves authentically and connect through shared vulnerability and joy.
Passionate about expanding the definition of creativity beyond drawing and painting, Hollis believes creativity lives within every person and is woven into everyday life. She has spent years sharing this message in schools, community spaces, workshops, and collaborative projects across both the West and East Coasts, inspiring people of all ages to reclaim their voices, imagination, and unique ways of seeing the world.
Her current work explores storytelling through participation, humor, improvisation, and emotional honesty, inviting audiences to move beyond observation and become active co-creators in the artistic experience. Whether facilitating magnetic poetry, interactive installations, or one-on-one exchanges like the “Doodle Oracle, ” Hollis is deeply interested in how creativity can build connection and transform strangers into temporary communities.
She currently lives in South Jersey with her husband and three cats while her two grown children continue creating lives—and canvases—of their own. Hollis views life itself as a layered creative process, constantly evolving through curiosity, experimentation, and human connection.
