You may have heard the story before. But never like this.
My Carmilla is a bold reimagining of J. Sheridan Le Fanu’s 1872 vampire novella Carmilla through a queer, feminist, and postcolonial lens.
Transported from the gothic castle of the original novella to New England, this folk horror adaptation features music, movement, and a cast of five performers in multiple roles to explore desire, repression, and freedom.
The actors playing Laura and Carmilla will alternate roles each performance, highlighting the question: who is the predator, and who is the prey?
A Home for The Homemade
The Lemonade Stand strives to create a home for new work and new artists in the expansive Philadelphia arts community. We prioritize the development process, community, and partnership. We are committed to being rough around the edges, adaptive to each process, and true to the artist's vision.
A company by and for emerging theatre artists, we aim to foster and celebrate communities of artists who create beyond The Lemonade Stand. We want to bring artists of all mediums to collaborate, find community, and unlock new creative possibilities. We are successful when artists collaborate outside the Lemonade Stand and we are proud to be a part of the next generation of Philadelphia artists.
We love homemade.

Asha Bagal Kelly & Sabrina Caruso - Playwrights/Performers
Asha and Sabrina met at Broken Mirror Studio in Philadelphia, where they were paired for a scene study and quickly discovered a strong artistic connection. Through their work together, they began questioning the shifting dynamics of power within their scenes. These explorations ultimately inspired the concept of a mirrored performance.
