My Friend, Ithamar

Hollow Narrator Media

Theater, Storytelling & Spoken Word

Connect

A cozy author reading curdles into ritual. Three stories invite the audience to listen and wonder what has been listening back. My Friend, Ithamar is an intimate horror about grief, attention, and the terrible relief of being understood. Stay for the signing.

My Friend, Ithamar is a companion piece to The Watcher Sleeps (Cannonball 2025). The lights are up. The book is open. The author is charming. The audience has taken its seats. Everything looks safe because it knows exactly how safe is supposed to look.

Across three tales of surveillance, comfort, and hunger, the horror arrives gently. It waits beside you. It makes relief feel like mercy until mercy begins to feel like possession.

What do we give away when a story understands us too well? Where is the line between being witnessed and being consumed?

The door was open the whole time. This is a literary event, a ritual, and an invitation. A story feeds first on attention. Sometimes it feeds on what we are willing to give.

Questions? Comments? Confessions?

This performance contains mature themes including grief, loss, and psychological horror.

Cannonball is the largest hub of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, championing a revolutionary artist-led model that prioritizes equity, experimentation, and community connection. Now in its sixth year, Cannonball presents more than 100 artists across five stages, representing nearly 30 percent of the overall Philadelphia Fringe Festival. From rebellious circus and delicious dance to fearless theater and activist art, Cannonball pushes the boundaries of live performance while creating a vibrant, artist-centered ecosystem for independent performance makers and adventurous audiences alike.
